Silent Chains

Silent Chains Manufacturer

Silent chain or inverted tooth chain, is a chain with teeth on its links that engage with teeth in a sprocket. A Silent Chain Drive is not truly silent, however they produce less noise and vibrations than other chains because their links engage with the sprocket teeth with minimal impact or sliding. The amount of noise generated by a silent chain drive depends on various factors such as speed, lubrication, sprocket size, load and drive support. A link belt silent chain is made out of replaceable links held together by rivets or interlocking tabs. These chains has an advantage of installation without reducing inventory, dismantling drive components, and increasing temperature ranges.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION :

The pitch of a silent chain is usually specified in inches, the most common are .375 inch, .500 inch, .750 inch, 1.000 inch, 1.500 inch, and 2.000 inch. Chain pitch can be measured by dividing the distance cross the consecutive pin heads by three.

Width is also used to express the size of a silent chain in the following ways:
1. width over links (measurement across link plates, excluding washers or pin heads).
2. width over heads (the maximum chain width, measured across the headed pins).
3. nominal width (an approximation of chain sized for catalogues, not a measurement).
